What to Expect at the 2020 Epcot International Festival of the Arts

Each of the Walt Disney World Resort parks has its own unique characteristics that set it apart from all the others. At Epcot that includes an ability to host some amazing festivals year round. This winter will mark the 4th anniversary of Epcot’s newest festival, the Epcot International Festival of the Arts which celebrates the culinary, performing, and visual arts. Although the festival is fairly new, it is quickly becoming one of the park’s most popular events, thanks to its unique offerings. Here’s a peek at what to expect at the 2020 Epcot International Festival of the Arts.

Culinary Arts

Just like Epcot’s other festivals, this one features food kiosks. Called Food Studios, they are located throughout the park and present food as art. On the menu are colorful creations that delight all the senses. Some Food Studios from the 2019 festival included Pop Eats, which featured colorful, pop art-inspired small plates, and The Deconstructed Dish, which featured deconstructed versions of popular foods such as BLT and cheesecake.

If you want to learn more about the culinary arts or brush up on some techniques, you can attend seminars and workshops led by talented chefs.

Visual Arts

One of the main highlights of the festival is watching artists create their masterpieces right before your eyes. Throughout the park, you’ll find artists in action creating unique Disney-themed artwork. In the world showcase, you’re likely to find talented sidewalk chalk artists as well as artists painting landscape scenes inspired by the park.

If you are looking for a more hands-on experience, you can attend workshops led by talented Disney artists or help paint one of the interactive murals throughout the park. You can also become art as you pose for keepsake photos against backdrops inspired by famous works of art.

Performing Arts

Throughout the park, you’ll find special performances by marching bands, acrobats, musicians, and even the Epcot Living Statues. There are set times for most of these performances, so if there is a particular group you want to see, we recommend checking schedules before your visit.

In addition to these, the festival also hosts the Disney on Broadway Concert Series. Held at the America Gardens Theatre, this concert series features talented singers from Disney on Broadway performing songs from their shows. Fortunately, entrance to these shows in included with park admission, so there’s no need to pay extra. Just show up to the outdoor theater across from the America pavilion, grab a seat, and enjoy.
