Every holiday season our sister property the Rosen Shingle Creek displays spectacular Christmas trees in the lobby for all to enjoy. These trees, decorated by non-profit partners of Rosen Hotels & Resorts, are typically themed to match the organization’s mission statement. All guests of Rosen hotels are welcome to view the trees as the display serves to spread holiday cheer as well as inform guests of some of the great charitable organizations throughout Central Florida.
This year we decided to make it even more special by combining it with a unique fundraiser hosted by The Adam Michael Rosen Foundation. We’re calling this special event Sock It to Cancer.
Last year the Rosen family tragically lost their son Adam Rosen to gliomatosis ceribri, a rare form of brain cancer that typically strikes young children. Adam was 26 when he passed after a two and a half year battle. During this time, his unwavering strength and smile touched the hearts of all who knew and supported him during his battle. He inspired so many during his fight, and now his family is helping others fighting cancer as Adam was known to do.
Since Christmas was Adam’s favorite holiday and he was notorious for sporting colorful socks, what once was simply a display of Christmas trees has become a friendly competition—to help raise awareness and funds to help fight cancer and support cancer patients and their families.
The night before the Christmas trees move into the lobby for general viewing, there will be a special party during which guests vote on their favorite tree. Guests will cast “votes” with donated holiday themed socks for adults and children. If you forget socks, vouchers will be sold so you can still cast votes. The spirit of Christmas cannot be contained, so you can vote for however many trees you want!
The tree that receives the most votes will win a $5,000 donation to their organization from The Adam Michael Rosen Foundation. And all of those socks? They’ll be collected at the end of the night by the Adam Michael Rosen Foundation who will deliver them to local cancer patients spending the holidays in a hospital. It’s a win-win situation for everyone! All proceeds go to The Adam Michael Rosen Foundation, which in turn helps cancer patients and their families with financial aid. Another win!
We’d be honored if you would join us for this event. The party is at Rosen Shingle Creek which is a quick 2 mile drive from Midpointe Hotel. Take an Uber and make Midpointe your place of rest after a fun night of holiday cheer while supporting an amazing cause.
