Catch the Kahuna of watersports, skate, and beach lifestyle tradeshows this fall in Orlando—Surf Expo. Surf, running strong since 1976, gives surf, skate, and beach/watersport retailers a sneak peek at latest fashions, hard goods, and trends for this popular industry. Surf Expo attracts over 28,600 attendees from all over the world, so if you’ve got a beach shop or run a skate park that sells merch, plan your trip ahead of time. Media you follow, retailers that compete with you, and exhibitors excited to show you what they’ve got won’t miss out on this massive networking opportunity at the Orange County Convention Center on September 5-7.
An Epic Start at Waterfest
Although the expo doesn’t start until Thursday, arrive early for Waterfest, the official kickoff outdoor festival. Open to retailers, exhibitors, and members of the press, Waterfest gets you ready for three days of sand, surf, and the latest in coastal living. Exhibitors participating in Waterfest showcase only the best from over 40 brands. Retailers and media enjoy hands on access to products, including testing out some goods on the water. The event takes place Wednesday, September 4, at Surf Expo Springs, in front of the Orange County Convention Center North Concourse. Free shuttles to the event are provided by the Surf Expo organizers.
Chill Networking and Cool Shopping
Once the official expo gets underway, you’ll have access to even more shopping and networking opportunities. The Surf Expo welcomes over 1,000 exhibitors, including senior management, and attracts other retailers representing over 9,500 storefronts. Surf offers a great market reach that draws buyers from various industries including hotels, cruise lines, fish and tackle shops, and international retailers. The September show is organized into thirteen product categories:
- Coastal Gift
With so much to see, of course you’ll need a place to kick back and relax. Last year The Neighborhood offered a coastal-inspired area to relax and take a break while enjoying additional vending and networking opportunities. The Neighborhood Lounge featured a hand crafted coffee bar presented by Commune and Co. and What Youth provided happy hours and musical entertainment. Exhibitors in this section included brands such as Fossil, Herschel Supply Co., Lotus, Luna, and TOMS. Surf Expo will soon announce this year’s entertainment and exhibitors, so stay tuned.
In addition to the many exhibitor booths, the Surf Expo also hosts fashion shows, demos, and the annual Wake Awards, which honors the most elite riders. The awards ceremony is free for all registered attendees and is a great opportunity to connect with athletes and top names in the industry. Visit the Surf Expo website for a full schedule of events.
