Every October, Orlando welcomes Central Floridians and visitors to Come Out With Pride. This year the festival takes place on Saturday, October 13, and features fun, inclusive activities for the community. Come Out With Pride aligns with National Coming Out Day (October 11) as well as Gay and Lesbian History Month, so it’s the perfect time to celebrate the progress and diversity of the LGBTQ community. Check out our tips for making the most of the Come Out With Pride Orlando this year.
Start the Celebration with Block Parties
Even before the festival begins you’ll find block parties across downtown Orlando. Start the party Friday night at Pride on Church Street. In past years, this popular event has featured performers such as DJ Ultra Naté and Amy Armstrong & Freddy Allen.
There Will Be Brunch
Yes, you heard that correctly–before the parade you’ll enjoy an amazing brunch with family and friends. The Big Gay Brunch includes bottomless mimosas, Tito’s Bloody Marys, as well as popular DJs and performers. This 21+ event requires tickets so purchase yours early before they sell out!
Bring the Kiddos
There’s plenty of family-friendly fun at Come Out With Pride. Both the parade and festival are appropriate for all ages and there is even a Disney Kids & Family Zone. Kids and parents will enjoy fun activities including face painting, arts and crafts, and more.
Don’t Forget the Doggos
Bring your fur babies too! Dogs are welcome along Lake Eola and will enjoy exploring the path around the lake. Don your dog with pride-themed bandanas or other accessories to show creative support for the community.
Upgrade to the VIP Experience
As a VIP, you’ll enjoy access to an open bar from noon to 9:00 p.m., as well as delicious eats and treats from 1:00 to 7 p.m. You’ll also enjoy the parade from grandstand seating so you can be sure to catch all of the beautiful floats.
Watch the Fireworks
Every great celebration deserves a grand finale. In true Orlando style, Come Out With Pride ends with a dazzling fireworks display. The mile long walkway around Lake Eola provides plenty of viewing space.
After your long day of celebrating and enjoying community, rest up at Midpointe Hotel, a Rosen property. You’ll enjoy easy access to downtown Orlando and all the Come Out With Pride events via the nearby I-4 ramp. You’ll also be next to some of Orlando’s most popular attractions on International Drive.
